God gift to you is talent; what you do with it is your gift to God Washington Post

Former Virginia Tech men’s basketball star Erick Green will be venturing overseas this season. He will be playing with the Montepaschi Siena. 22 of age and he still haven’t given up on his dream to make it to the NBA. This Summer Green had the opportunity to play with the Denver Nuggets NBA Summer League team in Las Vegas. He played to his full potential and was able to average 9.3 points a game.

Although, his game was outstanding the “ACC Player of the Year” was unable to earn a roster spot this season. Once Utah Jazz selected Green as no. 46 during the 2nd round of the 2013 NBA draft, there was no doubt in his mind that his dream didn't come true.

But now he has been challenged with another setback. Indeed Erick should be familiar with challenges, maybe not a lot off the court, but on the court most definitely.

He could have just gave up completely when he found out he didn't have a spot on the roster. But somewhere in Green heart he still found faith in his dream. He knew that God wouldn't have brought him this far to leave him, so he’s going around his obstacles and will be playing overseas! Next year there is no doubt in my mind that he won’t come back stronger, wiser, and better.

“They said I’d never make it to the top … because I come from the bottom” A Setback Is A Setup For A Comeback by: Willie Jolley

It’s not what you know but it’s who you know . . . well I’m coming to learn that it’s not who you know but it’s who know you? Obtaining a degree in communications is much different from obtaining one in medicine, nursing, or engineering. The degrees above almost guarantee you a job, starting off with good pay; while communication is much different. It takes more patience and time. Basically you’re going to start off at the bottom and it’s up to you to make your way to the top. That’s when the words of encouragement from an awesome author “Willie Jolley” comes in handy.

He lived by the V.D.A.D formula; the power of vision, decision, action, and desire. He believes "faith is an important ingredient in success," and in overcoming challenges. Have a dream and work towards it. Of course you will have trials and tribulations, obstacles come in your way. But become like an ant and do anything to go over it, through it, or around it. But whatever you do don’t stop and give up! You will never reach success if you don’t have faith. "Adversity challenges and pushes us to accelerate the development of our greatest potentials." - Jolley

We all know that throughout this field the more experience, the greater the job; therefore you have to try and do internships. Its’ going to be times when we try to do an internship but we get turned down. That doesn't mean give up, that simply means that God has other plans for us, bigger and better plans!
Almost everybody tells me that college becomes very stressful, difficult, and time consuming. All this for the truth to be told . . . college doesn't guarantee success. But if you have a dream and keep F.A.I.T.H. there is nothing to worry about. PRAYER … Just Do It!

I taught NIKE how to do it

My name is Brandi Montgomery, and I am officially a Howard Bison. I am a freshman, therefore I am in Class of 2017. Born and raised in Hopkins, South Carolina I have decided to spread my wings and venture 8 hours away from home to major in Broadcast Journalism.
So . . . I have come to conclusion that I have a passion for helping others, simply motivating others to never give up.
I figured my first post should give you the opportunity to get to know who I am and my motive behind this blog topic.
I believe in faith; it is not strength but desire that moves us. Everyone has a dream, and I believe that everyone should pursue them. If it wasn't for faith I wouldn't be living my dream now. My dream has always been to attend Howard University, but once I became a senior I started losing hope. Many people told me I was too poor, some told me I wasn't smart enough, and very few said that I could do it! But because I serve a mighty God I am where I am at today. Though I did become discourage with myself at times I always kept faith in God.
Yes I am still broke as I was yesterday, no I didn't go to a high school that well prepared me for college, but I do know that I am capable of learning anything that is being taught to me, and that God will always make a way!
Always remember that weeping may endure for a night but JOY COMES IN THE MORNING. So I encourage you to Just Do It . . . Just Pray! But if you are going to worry, don't pray & if you are going to pray, don't worry!
